Every dog has different requirements when it comes to food and Weimaraners are no exception.
Weimaraner owners need to feed them foods that contain the neccessary nutrients for the breed in particular, which typically means sources that are similar to those found in their originaly environment.
Always try and learn what are the right foods even before buying your dog as it gives you an idea of what is required as far as cost, preparation, amounts and so on.
The best food for a Weimaraner is one that is made fresh using the best ingredients you can find and afford. Commercial foods are readily available but preparing your own foods due normally work out quicker and cheaper if you plan correctly.
The Weimaraner enjoys foods that are high in animal fats, such as those found in lamb and poultry, due to its history in hunting. Potatos and grains should also form a good part of their diet.
The contents of their food should be poultry first, lamb second, potato third and then the grains such as wheat and barley.
You should avoid giving your Weimaraner any ocean fish, beet pulp, white rice, or soy.
Vitamins and minerals are also an important consideration and you should feed the correct nutrients depending on the age of your dog (puppy or adult), specific breed or other important feature of your own Weimaraner.
The best advice I can offer is to consult with a reputable breeder or Weimaraner owner for help in formulating their diet and supplementation.
