I am looking for any personal experience with these dog breeds, including temperament, how well they do with other dogs, living indoors, drooling, etc...:

Weims generally have pretty even temperaments, although there are always exceptions to the rule. They can be extrememly affectionate and they can be aloof.

If socialized early, they get along with other dogs just fine - no matter their gender. As they are bred for hunting, sometimes their prey drive is too high to live with smaller breeds.

They MUST live indoors with their family. They are extrememly loyal and often called a "Velcro" dog. If left outside, they can become very destructive, bark non-stop, and find creative ways to entertain themselves. Many of them can scale a 6ft fence with ease, if they so desire.

They typically do not drool. They are very messy drinkers, though.

They are very high energy and do require a lot of exercise. They also need consistant obedience training or they will make their own rules. I wouldn't recommend a Weim as the breed for a first-time dog owner.

I absolutely adore this breed!

For a Weim, here's some info:

Temperment-friendly, but extremely high energy. They do need quite a bit of exercise.

Other dogs-a lot of this depends on the dog, the gender, and whether it's neutered. Males do tend to be somewhat other-dog-aggressive sometimes. Regardless of the gender, I'd advise neutering, as this resolves a lot of potential behavior problems.

Living indoors-a Weim can and should live indoors, but shouldn't be left unsupervised. If the dog must be left alone when you're not home, a crate or outdoor run is a good idea.

Hygeine-Weims are pretty clean and don't shed a lot. However, they can drool quite a bit due to large, loose lips.

Hope this helps. More info can be found here: http://www.weimclubamerica.org/

Weimaraners are great dogs and extremely smart and friendly. The only problem is that they have a ton of energy and if the dont get the proper exercise they can get into trouble.

weinmaraners are huge. they are wicked smart and overly friendly. they are also VERY hyper. they chew on anything they see [they are VERY strong]. my cousin has one and she needs a muzzle on it so it doesn't destroy her new house.

I bought my 1st weim in april aged 4 mths. She is the easiest dog I have had to train and loves going to training classes. She is also great with my other dog and dogs in general as she has been well socialised with them. She is a great member of our family including 3 kids and we really wouldn t be without heer. My belief is to ensure they have at least 2hrs exercise a day as this is the only way to wear them out and therefore they will be very well behaved,
