i have a 1 year 5month old weimaraner and he demodex mange so he wasn't hungry but now that he is better he has loose skin the vet told me to build muscle on him but how he gets bored of fetch fast i feed him Ol Roy high performance 27% protein and 15 % fat he isn't even fat its weird |

First, get the dog on a better dog food (I feed Innova/EVO). It's high protien, low carbs and no grains or fillers. Ol' Roy is not a very healthy food, in my opinion.
Take your dog swimming, it's the best exercise for dogs, it works all their muscles. You can increase his food a little too. |

take him running with you  or find some other activity that he enjoys that would exercise him. Take him to a dog park and let him play with other dogs. |

Oh no. You said a dirty word. Ol Roy is probably the worst dog food on the market.
So, I think a serious upgrade in his food will help improve his weight, skin, energy etc.
I will suggest looking into Wellness, Canidae, Solid Gold, Taste of the Wild etc.
Yes, these foods cost more. But you have just one dog. Feed him the best. |

Ol Roy is total garbage. It is nothing but corn, wheat, and animal byproducts. Unless your dog begins eating food with actual meat in it, and very little grains, he will never gain muscle. Nothing you will find at Walmart is high quality food, nothing.
There are several great dog food brands on the market that you can find at your local pet stores and animal food stores. Merrick, Innova, Wellness, California Naturals, and Blue Buffalo are all great. Taste of the Wild (which is what I feed), Wellness Core, Orijen, and Innova Evo are all grain free, and the best dog foods on the market. |

Get him off ole roy thats the first step. Then running and walking every day for 2 hours at least. Running up a steep hill is the best way to build up leg muscles. I do that at least 5 times a day with my weims. And walk for 2 hours 1-2 times a day.
Note: Weims are NOT suppose to be overly muscled, they are suppose to be aristocratic looking. |

why don't you try walking him up a few hills or give him a nice protien milk bone or something like that after fetch (if you don't throw a bone) and i hear that you can get a special dog treadmill when you don't want to walk him, hope this helped. sorry if it didn't. |

Many weimaraners I've seen are not very muscular. In good shape but not big. Do you give him alot of other running/walking exercises on/off the leash? That's always best and feed him a bit more food. You don't have to go high on the protein if you don't exercise him much. |
