First, make sure you are feeding a good quality food. If the food does not give the dog the nutrition it needs. it does not matter how much you feed.
Second, call his breeder, Ask them what is normal in his lines for a dog his age. Some breeds and/or lines mature at different rates and may appear thin when it is just how his family develops. If it is a good breeder, they will be able to tell you if this is normal for him or not. Also, they should be able to recommend a good food that does well for him.
Also, the feeding recommendations are usually for medium activity adult dogs. He will need more if he is still maturing and very active.
He is still fairly young and may not have filled out yet. But check to see what is normal for his lines. If the breeder feels that he is underweight and you are feeding him a good quality food in sufficient amounts you may want to get some blood work done at the vets to see if there is a problem. |
