Hi, my Weim is coming up to five months old now and we have been feeding her Hills Science Plan. I find it very expensive and Heidi (the dog) seems to be going off it a bit. Can anybody suggest a decent dog food for Weims? I don't want a really cheap one - I want one that will be good for her - just not as expensive as Science Plan. Thanks

I use to feed my Weim (Farris) Nutro. You can usually find it at any pet store. We use to buy it at Petsmart when they had sales. It came to about a $1 per pound of food. He seemed to enjoy it.

I fed my Weim when she was a pup large breed puppy chow. she really liked it. now i feed her beniful and she is going strong Good luck with your new weim they are a blast to have around. mine keeps me laughing

Feed your dog a premium dog food. The benifits far outwiegh the cost. Your dog will be healthier,have a much prettier coat and eyes, also ther is less poop to pick up because more of the food is digested. ( I have a weim as well and let me tell you those piles get huge) Talk to your vet and see what they suggest. In the long run you will save money on vet bills and you and your pet will be happier.

Feed her the best premium food you can afford. Weims can get HOD and some other joint problems, so I'd really suggest you feed her a large breed puppy food that is designed to meet the needs of your growing dog. Royal Canin has a nice one. Feed her from an elevated bowl if possible (plant stands hold a food dish quite nicely and are inexpensive) Feeding her elevated and adding a little bit of warm water to the food can help prevent bloat, which can occur in deep chested dogs like Weimaraners
