Subject :Why is my puppy losing hair?..

Here we go again, my puppy is having skin problems again. And guess what... the vet has no clue what is going on with him.... again(tested negative for mange for like honeslty the 5th time)! Well my now 6 1/2 month weimaraner is losing hair on his back, in teenie tiny patches(like a pen dot) all down his back bone. He is also losing some hair on his legs as well. My only guess is allergies... I have tried science diet(gave him runny poop) I have tried nutro natural choice and then a crappy brand which was purina 1. Also my puppy does not eat alot now and he is getting pretty dang skinny. So any advice? and PLEASE do not direct me to the vet, I am tired of waisting my money for them to tell me "they don't know"!!! |

Could be his food or other allergies outside. To many possibilities on that one. As for the weight feed him some powdered calves milk. 25% of people say don't, it messes their stomach up but I feed it to mine whenever he gets sick or loses some weight and it never bothers him. Also your pup is still growing so it will give him a bunch of vitamins and minerals he needs that he may not get from the food. |

hey i believe it must be because the summer is already here and they dont need hair no more the will abviously loose hair it also depend if it a white dog ur going to notice right way
i had a black dog and i couldnt tell then i got a white dog and i started to worry but they told me not to worry that she was fine and that i had noticed becase she was white and not black |

well he could have a rare or not found kind of pet cancer i really have to see it to give a good guess but without it i can only make a scientific guess sorry if it isn't rite i'm just trying to give possitive guesses. |

It could be the food they are eating chicken should be the first ingredient...I switched my dogs food and her hair grew back |

Is your dog out in the sun too much or has he been out in the sun too much? Once, I accidentally left my dog out in the sun too long and her hair fell out. Not all of it, just in tiny patches. It grew back black, not her natural color. |

Im not exactly sure what your dog may have.
My dog actually had a similar problem and
the vet concluded that my dog was actually
being bathed too much. Sometimes, dog
shampoo can actually irritate the its skin,
or it may have an allergic reaction. Your
problem is most likely not its diet. Another
thought that may help is that your dog may
have an allergic reaction to something else.
Have you bought a new couch/chair/dog bed
that he sleeps on frequently? Like people,
he could be allergic to certain types of fabric
or 'fake' fabric. And I also hate to inform you
that veterinarians are actually not going to
know everything, even the simplest of answers.  |

Forum
