to save the long story, would it be safe/reasonable to leave a weimaraner unattended at home for several hours a day (if bought as a puppy and kept under manners!) for example 9-3pm in a nice warm room full of toys and food! If anybody has any experience or opinions on the matter please bring forward The Great One appreciates this.

Very young puppies should not be left along for more than 4 hours ... and preferably not for longer than just a couple hours until they're a little older. You have to remember they live their first 8-12 weeks with mom and a bunch of siblings so, being all along for long periods of time is VERY stressful for them. As they get a little older, the time can be increased.

6 hours is not a very long stretch and after a pup is about 4-6 months old (depends on the exact puppy) that should be tolerable for them. You might consider looking into getting a little older puppy for this reason.

So, I guess my answer would be, that I wouldn't leave a puppy under 4 months alone for 6 hours. But, older than that, I don't see a problem with that length of time.

However, I wouldn't leave a puppy alone in a room with toys and food for any length of time. Invest in a crate or an X-pen. Or be prepared for major house soiling and damage.

My weims are left alone all morning while my parents are at work. But my guys are older. When they were younger they were crated while we were gone.

You will have to make sure that anything, and i mean anything the dog can get into is up high. You will have to have mentally stimulating toys. Weims are smart and get bored real easily.

you need to crate train it first. that takes lots of time, patience and consistency. if you bring a puppy home and just start leaving it alone, you will have urine, feces, and chewed up furniture.
