Subject :I just rescued a 3y/o Weimaraner..and she's scared of her name, amongst other things.?
I got my newest dog (a week ago) from a friend of a friend, they had her for 3 years and she is a Weimaraner named Flash. She is beautiful!!
But, when ever I call her to me " here, Flash" she lays down on the floor and stares up at me with her big silver eyes and her body starts to trembles, when I reach down to pet her she pee's. She runs out of the room if I sweep or mop the floor, and yesterday my boyfriend bought new golf clubs and was "modeling" them, as soon as she seen the club...she hide under the desk and would not come out.
I am assuming she was abused, so sad
What can I do to make her more comfortable?
She is so scared when I call her name, why do you think she would be so scared?
How can I train her to like her name and not be so fearfull of things.
Should I change her name?
I tried to coax her to me with treats, but as soon as I said "Flash" she was laying on the floor scared.
Can some one give me advise to help her through, so she can be a happy, balanced girl?
It just makes me sad to see her this way.
I tried to take her for a walk with the lead on, but she would not move off the deck.
She will follow me around the back yard (as long as I am not looking at her or calling her), and will join in chase games with my other dogs.
please help!
Thanks:) |
