We have a 9 month old weimaraner who is an unbelievably well-trained dog and we love her to death. We've never had a problem with barking except we dog sat our friends dogs for about 2 weeks and they barked like crazy. Now that they have gone home, she barks at everything and we can't ever get her to stop. It just gets annoying sometimes. Any suggestions? |

I have a Boxer that barks when the wind blows. We tried training, the doghouse that emits a sound, citronella spray collars, ect. And the only thing that worked was a shock collar. I feel horrible putting it on him but it works. It was an absolute last resort. I would try the other options before the shock, just to see what works for you. But if she isn't bothering anyone I would just let her bark. |

I have two poodles, one is 16 yrs. old, so we bought another a year ago in case we lost our little beloved old dog, well, the old dog whines and is afraid to jump off the bed, in the morning to go out and go potty, now, all of a sudden the younger dog sits and cries too, won't jump off the dog, wants to be picked up and carried like our old one! Yeah, oh, yeah! They are so smart, and pick up bad habits, I have two out door labs too, and the one was fine when we got them the other sat and barked, drove me nuts and I was real concerned for my neighbors, I went to Pet Smart and bought a bark collar, it vibrates first as a warning before it gives them a shock, I think she got shocked maybe twice, quick study, we took it off after a wk., she has really been quite good since and she is now ten. They do work and it is a lot better than having to go to court or having to get rid of your dog. Good luck. |

Get a squirt bottle and fill it almost full with water and then put in about a 1/3 cup of vinegar. When the dog starts to bark, spray her with the squirt bottle (make sure that it is set to the stream) and tell her QUIET !!!!!!!!!!!! Do this for a while and eventually she will get the message.
Good luck. |

The best way to get rid of the barking is to train it. The best way to train it is to go outside and when she barks tell it No in a FIRM voice. WHen it stops give it a treat or say good girl/boy |

Maybe she's lonely. she had company for two weeks, now she doesn't have any Company. I think she liked the other dogs being there. |
