Subject :I have a 13 week old weimaraner. She keeps getting up at night to potty, and at 4:15 she is up for the day. ?
She is crate trained and has plenty of play time before being crated for the night. How can I get her to sleep ALL night? |

By 13 weeks she should be going longer than that I think. However, if she's asking to go out then, you can't really ignore her asking. She is getting into a habit however. Maybe you might try ignoring her and see what happens- after all if she pees in her crate, you only have some extra laundry to do, and it may break this habit? When you bring her back in, give her a wee biscuit and put her back in her crate and tell her to settle down. Hopefully she will just play with her toys in her crate for a while, and if she gets no further reaction from you, she will settle down again.
Unfortunately sometimes getting up is enough to make sleep go out the window. But you will just have to persevere. Mine is this age, and she's been sleeping/quiet, beside my bed, through the night from around 10.30 until 7 - and she's clean too.
Keep at it, this phase truly doesn't last long (she says, thinking what I'm into is never ending at the moment lol)
ps At this age, 13 weeks, any exercise you give her won't help - she's way too young to go for more than a short walk ! |

She's a puppy!! She's too young to expect her to sleep the whole night without going potty. Sorry, but you have to get up at least once during the night to take her outside.
If she thinks her day starts at 4.15am, as long as she has been taken outside to potty then put her back in the crate and ignore any fuss. She'll get the message soon enough that the day starts when you get up, not when she thinks it should. |

what time do you put her in her crate for the night?
I dont expect youngsters to be able to go all through the night and let them out just before midnight, just like babies they need to learn control. Find your ideal bedtime, restrict water intake as previously mentioned and make sure she is adequately exercised in the day to tire her out. |

I have a 8 1/2 week lab/border collie mix and it'll cry for atleast around 2 hours every night if crate trained. Crate training is CRITICAL. You must do it. You should take her on atleast 2 walks a day and playing with her more (like ball and/or fetch). Sadly, you will have to get up very early to let her out. There is no way around it. Hope this helps! I don't know what time you go to bed, but you should pick her water dish up 2 hours before you go to bed (unless you exercise her in that 2hr span).
Your dog is only 13weeks old. She is a pup. Like a child, they have tons of energy. Therefore, you have to help her burn that energy.
Walk her at least 3 times a day *not far... just enough to let her burn some energy, remember she's still a baby*
Throw a ball for her, I know at that age, sometimes they're a bit young and don't comprehend fetch, but try.
Get a stick... tie fishing line at the end, make a trail, tie a toy to the fishing line... and interact that way.. dogs love this!!

13 weeks old.. if you make ANY dog hold their bladder for a whole night without taking proper percautions before you crate them, it is abuse!!!! Dogs need to have their water pulled 2hrs before going to bed. It allows them to drain their bladder. Not taking percautions before you do go to bed, making your dog hold it's bladder for long periods of time could cause the bladder to erupt, or your going to have many messes. |

STOP letting it OUT!!!

Crate for the night...don't ALLOW it to make a peep til the alarm goes off=TA-DAH!
